Comprehensive evaluations for children and adults

Welcome to my comprehensive psychological testing service, where collaboration is at the core of our journey together. For children (age 10+) and adults, I hold up a mirror to your lived experiences, helping you understand and reflect on your unique concerns. Throughout our 3-6 month process, we work hand-in-hand to explore your questions and challenges, you and/or your child are actively involved in understanding the results. My emphasis on collaboration empowers you with insights to navigate challenges and make informed decisions for a brighter future.

About Me

Since 2005, I have specialized in working with youth with learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges—first as a Special Education teacher and later as a clinical psychologist. Helping people to understand the meaning of their assessment findings, beyond a label, is at the forefront of my work. I sat through many IEP meetings where children were given labels without anyone in the room having a sense of what they meant and what could be done about them. I ultimately became a clinical psychologist precisely so I could empower people to better understand their specific strengths and challenges beyond the labels.  Along the way, I have worked with people of all ages from infancy through adulthood – with a particular emphasis on school-aged children and young adults. In addition to my clinical work, I have spent the past decade training, supervising, and teaching early-career psychologists in psychotherapy and collaborative assessment practices. As a clinician, I use my breadth of experience, relational capacity, and commitment to collaboration in my work.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is expensive, where else can I seek help?

If you have a child in school and your concerns are primarily around learning and trouble in school, I highly recommend to first request an assessment through the school. If your child is in the private school, your local public school will still be able to conduct an evaluation. Please see Learning Disabilities for America for more information as to how to request this service.

Do you take insurance?

Unfortunately, I am not taking insurance at this time. I would be happy to provide a superbill that you can submit to insurance at the conclusion of our work together. I would recommend checking with your insurance company to see if they will cover any of the costs.

How does payment work?

I accept payment via Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and check. I ask for the first half of the payment at the initial session and the second half prior to the completion of the assessment report. Payment plans can be discussed if necessary.

Do you test in Oregon or California?

I am licensed in both Oregon and California. I provide testing in Portland year-round. I go down to the Bay Area 2-3 times per year and am able to schedule in some in-person testing during these trips, though initial meetings and feedback sessions would occur online.

I am also able to provide online assessments in both states. Online assessments are best for teens and adults who have questions related more to emotional experiences. If you have more cognitively based questions (e.g. ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.), in-person testing will be required.
